You know, even ignoring your lack of experience, this is actually a pretty good game. It's a simple, well balanced platformer with mechanics that don't ever really seem completely ridiculous. All in all, it's short, sweet, and plays nicely.
I know people have been giving you a hard time for having glitches, but I actually didn't really notice any. There was nothing that stopped me from playing/ being able to complete the game. The animation works well, and the music was well chosen (of course, I might be a little biased on that front).
I only have two complaints: 1. The jump and slide sounds got REALLY old REALLY fast. I know you were probably trying to pick something to go with your art style, but it just becomes kind of a nuisance after a short time. 2. Most of the game was super easy. I will admit that I found myself genuinely challenged in the later part of space ship level (the part when you have to jump on a moving platform, jump on top of a middle thing with spikes, and then get back on the platform worked really well), but in general the difficulty ramp was rather gentle. Also, the final boss fight was laughably easy. Maybe have him shoot projectiles or SOMETHING to make him a little less pointless.
All in all, for what it is, it's surprisingly good work. Most people's idea of a second game on this site is uploading the crash course of Stencyl with a few handmade sprites thrown in for show, so you've certainly surpassed a lot of people in skill already. Perhaps it's not the most original concept I've ever seen, but it shows you have a good grasp on the mechanics of game design, and that's the most important thing to consider.
Keep programming, keep creating games, and ignore these foolz below me! You're going to do great things.
P.S.
Thanks for using my song! That's hella cool.
